            I turned 30 years old this week.  It really feels like the last few years have really picked up speed.  Sometimes, it is important to slow down and take a look at all the progress that has been made.  Below is a compilation of some of our favorite lessons at Major League University that have helped me over the first 30 years of my life (in no particular order):

The Lessons

  1. Be on time (and that means early).
  2. Roadblocks are steppingstones.
  3. Eye contact is important.
  4. Don’t sweat the small stuff.
  5. Do what you love.
  6. It’s just money.
  7. Investing > Spending.
  8. There are very few opinions that matter.
  9. Your words can change a person’s life, for better or worse.
  10. Find happiness and make money around that.
  11. Everyone should work in customer service at some point.
  12. Fail forward.
  13. Watch how you talk to yourself.
  14. The compound effect is real.
  15. Stand up for others.
  16. We ALWAYS have a choice.
  17. Listen more than you speak.
  18. Hold the door.
  19. Leave it better than you found it.
  20. The grass is greenest where you water it.
  21. Spend ample time outside.
  22. Gratitude is the key to happiness.
  23. Perspective is incredibly important.
  24. You can’t teach feel.
  25. Give more than you take.
  26. Be somebody’s hero.
  27. Sports are what you do, not who you are.
  28. People always remember how you make them feel.
  29. Provide light in the room.
  30. You are perfect just the way you are.
