I turned 30 years old this week. It really feels like the last few years have really picked up speed. Sometimes, it is important to slow down and take a look at all the progress that has been made. Below is a compilation of some of our favorite lessons at Major League University that have helped me over the first 30 years of my life (in no particular order):
The Lessons
- Be on time (and that means early).
- Roadblocks are steppingstones.
- Eye contact is important.
- Don’t sweat the small stuff.
- Do what you love.
- It’s just money.
- Investing > Spending.
- There are very few opinions that matter.
- Your words can change a person’s life, for better or worse.
- Find happiness and make money around that.
- Everyone should work in customer service at some point.
- Fail forward.
- Watch how you talk to yourself.
- The compound effect is real.
- Stand up for others.
- We ALWAYS have a choice.
- Listen more than you speak.
- Hold the door.
- Leave it better than you found it.
- The grass is greenest where you water it.
- Spend ample time outside.
- Gratitude is the key to happiness.
- Perspective is incredibly important.
- You can’t teach feel.
- Give more than you take.
- Be somebody’s hero.
- Sports are what you do, not who you are.
- People always remember how you make them feel.
- Provide light in the room.
- You are perfect just the way you are.
