Have you ever wanted to achieve something so bad you would do whatever it took to get it? Everyone wants something in their life whether they realize it or not, but why do some get it and others do not? It is a matter of how strong their belief is. Belief is one of the most powerful motivators out there. Whether it is something very attainable or something people rarely achieve, belief will drive your efforts in your pursuit.
First, you must know what you want or what your goal is. If you do not know this, it is like you driving in circles hoping to reach a certain destination. Before you go anywhere new, you are likely to map the address to get there in the shortest and most efficient route. Once you have your goal, you are able to start to see the path it takes to get there. If you do not, you will have to learn about how to get there. Either way, your goal is not enough to get there.
Belief is what you need in order to start working toward your goal. The bigger your goal is the more you need to believe. For example, if you want to be a millionaire, your belief must be strong as it is a longer process. This will help you to build the habits and to stay on course until your goal is met. It is the same concept for losing weight. If you want to lose 25 pounds, you must believe and stay the course of your plan for losing weight since you won’t see the results overnight.
So how do we build belief? Here are three concepts to build your belief in yourself and your process:
- Fix one thing first
If you are having a hard time believing that you can accomplish your goal, start with fixing one thing at a time. Going back to the example of losing 25 pounds, it may look impossible when you look at the big picture so you must break it down into smaller goals. It could be by starting to exercise three times per week. Once you start with doing that and you become consistent, you will start to build your belief. This will leak into other areas of your life such as improving your nutrition or getting ample amounts of sleep. It is all about building momentum toward your goal.
- Find people who are working toward the same goals or have accomplished them
The easiest way to instill belief into your goal is by surrounding yourself with people who have accomplished it already and with people in the same boat as you. It is hard to do things on your own since you have to rely only on yourself. Surrounding yourself with similar people improves your belief by simply knowing that you are not alone in the process. Other people are working for the same goal and you are able to hold each other accountable. The support you are able to provide for each other is unbelievable and can be the difference you are looking for.
- Belief comes from confidence
Once the first two are in place, your belief and confidence both improve. The confidence you have in yourself and your process keeps your motivation and your momentum alive. Confidence is the key to accomplishing everything in life. It is rarely present in the beginning so you must build that through trial and error. Once you are on the right path to your goal, your confidence will sky rocket and so will your belief.
Belief is such an important factor in accomplishing your goals. Without it, people give up on their goals. Use these three steps above to start instilling belief in yourself and your process to achieve any goal you desire. Remember, you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
